During Couples Counseling sessions, we strive to offer a safe, caring and confidential space to explore what’s working and not working in your relationship. Often partners find themselves feeling angry, sad, jealous or unfulfilled. This can lead to criticizing, defensiveness, avoidance and dislike. Intimate partners can bring out the best and worst in each other. Sessions often include improving communication, emotion regulation and negotiation. We may also explore relationship expectations and what each partner learned in their families’ of origin. If needed, we may meet individually with partners for some sessions, but the focus is always on improving the relationship and not taking sides or supporting one partner over the other. We are happy to assist you in this work.
